Manager, Food Safety and Quality Assurance
Job Summary of Manager, Food Safety and Quality Assurance:
You will leads the testing and evaluation of food processing equipment and design changes to improve food quality, consistency, safety, and operational efficiency. This role develops and implements standardized systems to simplify food preparation and store execution while minimizing costs. The Manager oversees a team of Food Technologists, providing coaching and performance feedback to enhance their effectiveness.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Manager, Food Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Lead or support cross-functional teams on large-scale projects that enhance food safety and quality across the company.
- Conduct tests on equipment, recipes, and food preparation procedures to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
- Review equipment-related procedures to maintain adherence to company FSQA standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop training materials and procedures that simplify and standardize food preparation and store execution with minimal cost impact.
- Perform store visits to assess equipment performance and operational execution of procedures.
- Support Operations in testing and implementing equipment and processes that reduce costs or simplify food preparation.
- Investigate equipment issues affecting food safety and quality from an operational perspective.
- Serve as a liaison among Operations, FSQA, and other teams to resolve equipment and preparation challenges impacting food safety and quality.
- Manage and coach Food Technologists to deliver technical expertise and support FSQA initiatives.
- Research emerging food processing equipment, methods, and tools to uphold the highest FSQA standards.
Qualifications and Experience of Manager, Food Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum five years of FSQA experience in store or food processing settings, with progressive management responsibility.
- Successful completion of initial and ongoing trainings.
- Valid Food Handler’s Card required within 30 days of employment.

Salary:
- $112,500 – $158,000 annually, depending on experience.
