Construction Technician Aerial
Job Summary of Construction Technician Aerial:
This role offers comprehensive training and hands on experience in various network construction types, including aerial, underground, and multi dwelling unit (MDU) installations. You will assist the Construction team in daily tasks while contributing to enhancing the overall customer experience through quality work and teamwork.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Construction Technician Aerial:
- Support network construction activities including moving, securing, loading/unloading cable, equipment, tools, and materials
- Dig trenches and holes, bury conduit and cables, and restore work areas
- Pull lasher, strand, and cable from pole to pole
- Perform traffic control and flagging as needed
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal industry regulations and safety standards
- Adhere to construction procedures and contractor specifications for aerial, underground, and MDU projects
- Operate and maintain crew vehicles safely
- Understand and follow strand routing, design maps, and map symbology for construction support
- Clean job sites of debris and leftover materials
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management
Qualifications and Experience of Construction Technician Aerial:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent work experience
- Driver’s License: Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record as per company standards
- Experience: Entry level; no prior experience required as training will be provided
- Physical Requirements: Ability to safely lift up to 75 pounds, climb poles with climbing gear, work in confined spaces, and endure outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to use assigned equipment safely, strong vision capabilities, ability to work independently and in teams, familiarity with computer systems and accurate documentation
- Travel: Willingness to travel to assigned territories and company locations, including during inclement weather
- Ability to obtain any required state licenses for installation or servicing of security services, if applicable
- Basic knowledge of mathematics and electronic testing equipment (e.g., ohm meters)
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one
- Proficiency with personal computers and software applications
