Job Summary of Inventory Planner:

You will play a critical role in achieving Sysco inventory management goals for aligned suppliers. Your responsibilities will include maintaining optimal inventory levels while maximizing customer service, managing inventory DSO, aged inventory, and shrink, and collaborating with various teams to drive supply chain efficiencies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Inventory Planner:

• Strategically maintain inventory levels while maximizing customer service.
• Manage Inventory DSO, aged inventory, obsolete inventory, spoilage, and shrink to achieve Sysco goals.
• Collaborate with merchandising teams, suppliers, and other functional areas.
• Utilize inventory systems and tools to achieve optimum inventory and service levels.
• Work with logistics teams to maximize supply chain efficiencies.
• Manage SKU count and resolve replenishment issues.
• Execute purchasing of new items and ensure proper system setup.
• Respond to market conditions and understand seasonal trends for suppliers.
• Execute enterprise purchasing initiatives and resolve PO issues.
• Investigate and resolve late/missing POs.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in Inventory Management/Purchasing; experience in a distributor with 10,000+ SKUs preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, strong communication skills, ability to work cross-functionally, attention to detail, proactive attitude, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, negotiation skills, knowledge of product forecasting.
