Job Summary of Business Developer:
This role focuses on acquiring new business clients by leveraging advanced sales tools and best practices. The team supports businesses of all sizes by understanding their unique needs and providing tailored product and service solutions. Emphasis is placed on customer engagement, professional growth, and revenue generation through strategic business development efforts.
Job Duties and Responsibilities of Business Developer:
- Hunt for and acquire new business clients within an assigned territory.
- Onboard and ramp new accounts to grow customer base and ensure long-term success.
- Manage sales opportunities through the funnel using prioritized action plans.
- Collaborate with line of business partners on leads and opportunities.
- Conduct face-to-face and remote sales engagements with prospects.
- Consistently meet or exceed daily activity and sales targets with a hunter mindset.
- Work with group purchasing organization field sales directors to navigate complex contracts.
- Understand contract and cooperative pricing opportunities within the territory.
- Make real-time pricing decisions to enhance the customer experience.
- Utilize CRM tools and platforms to manage pipeline and customer interactions.
- Implement and track new client success metrics to ensure compliance and retention.
- Demonstrate knowledge of prospect industries and align offerings accordingly.
Qualifications and Experience of Business Developer:
- Strong drive and desire to succeed in a competitive environment.
- Ability to bounce back from rejection and pivot quickly to new opportunities.
- Proven experience in business development or B2B sales.
- Proficient at delivering virtual and in-person presentations.
- Skilled in consultative and solution-based selling techniques.
- Understanding of business, financial, operational, and technology trends.
- Ability to independently manage workload and meet objectives.
- 1+ years of successful B2B sales experience (required).
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of CRM tools (preferred).
- Familiarity with SLED (State, Local Government, and Education) sector is a plus.
