Job Summary

Supervise the daily operations of a geographically assigned sales team focused on residential customers. Lead efforts to deliver best-in-class services while driving new customer acquisition and supporting sales goals through effective team management and development.

Responsibilities

• Support initiatives to simplify and enhance the customer experience consistently.
• Meet and exceed budgeted headcount and sales targets.
• Lead with enthusiasm to build excitement, energy, and develop team skills.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Recruit, interview, hire, and train Residential Market Development staff.
• Set clear expectations and hold team members accountable fairly and consistently.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and development to Residential Market Development Specialists.
• Identify training needs and implement plans to close skill gaps.
• Use reporting and analytics to inform business decisions.
• Collaborate across departments and support teams to achieve objectives.
• Balance approximately 60% field work with 40% office work.
• Coach team members following Charter’s Sales Process.
• Assign territories and monitor payroll and commission approvals.
• Manage employee relations including performance appraisals and coaching.
• Ensure administrative tasks and documentation related to sales are completed accurately.
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of Charter’s products, market conditions, and competition.
• Prepare reports and perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or equivalent work experience.
• 2+ years of outside sales or related work experience.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Strong technical and computer skills.
• Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and auto insurance meeting company standards.
• Ability to travel reliably to assigned territories, including in inclement weather.
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
• Familiarity with computer operating systems, communication devices, and software applications.
• Proficient in completing accurate documentation.
• Knowledge of direct sales practices.
• Experience educating consumers on products and services.
• Familiarity with cable or telecommunications services.
• 0.5+ years of sales supervisory experience preferred.
• Combination of field and office environments.
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including inclement weather.
• Required travel as necessary.
