Job Summary of Culinary Specialist:

Join our team, where you’ll play a vital role in driving new business growth and enhancing customer satisfaction through innovative culinary strategies and direct selling of Sysco’s product categories. As a key member of the sales team, you’ll represent Sysco at culinary events, collaborate with customers to identify opportunities, and deliver creative solutions to meet their needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Culinary Specialist:

• Develop and execute targeted culinary strategies to achieve business goals and drive profitable sales growth across categories.
• Collaborate with sales team to identify customer challenges and deliver effective solutions to drive case growth.
• Utilize data analytics to identify top opportunities for business reviews and coordinate with Director of Business Resources.
• Track activities and results using Salesforce CRM tool and champion the team selling process.
• Leverage sampling to close sales and promote Sysco’s brand and CatMan products.
• Stay informed of market trends, product innovations, and competitors’ offerings to provide value-added services to customers.
• Facilitate internal/external culinary events, including food shows, catering, and event planning activities.
• Manage operations of the test kitchen/culinary center, including sanitation, equipment upkeep, and compliance with food safety regulations.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers, chefs, and sales teams through participation in local events and culinary schools.
• Provide work direction to culinary staff, third-party vendors, and sanitation staff as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience of Culinary Specialist:

• Minimum: High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years executive chef experience in the foodservice industry.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent culinary degree, 3+ years of foodservice sales experience.
• Proficiency in culinary, restaurant operations, and food trends required.
• Strong financial acumen and ability to plan and execute business plans.
• Track record of success in consultative selling and networking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proactive, self-directed, and able to structure a weekly schedule for success
• Proficiency in Microsoft Applications Suite and ability to learn proprietary CRM tools.
• Understanding of marketing principles, product lines, and ordering procedures.
