Job Summary of Distribution Driver:

Drive a company vehicle for the purpose of collecting and distributing nearby orders and equipment, with a focus on optimizing route organization. Offer assistance in the warehouse when required and oversee inventory management systems at client sites.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Distribution Driver:

• Drive the company vehicle to transport items within the local area.
• Organize and strategize the most effective delivery routes for optimal efficiency.
• Oversee Vendor Managed Inventory initiatives at client sites.
• Arrange items for delivery in the specified sequence.
• Deliver goods to customer sites and collect signatures as confirmation of receipt.
• Identify products for collection, inspection, and dispatch as per sales requests.
• Ensure that packages are properly fastened to avoid any potential harm while being transported.
• Provide support with warehouse activities, such as replenishing inventory on shelves.
• Carry out any extra tasks that are delegated.

Qualifications and Experience of Distribution Driver:

• A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate is required.
• Proficiency in comprehending and analyzing packing slips and delivery directives.
• Fundamental mathematical abilities, literacy comprehension, and proficiency in using computers.
• Proficiency in recording customer data acquired while making deliveries.
• Capable of transporting objects weighing up to 100 lbs and hoisting items up to 50 lbs in weight.
• Possession of a current driver’s license with a yearly evaluation of driving history.
• Requirement of a road test as part of the hiring process.
• Fulfillment of necessary internal training and certifications.
• Having a medical card or DOT physical certification is necessary for commercial drivers to demonstrate their fitness for duty.
• Certain customers might mandate safety certifications as a prerequisite.
