Job Summary of Assistant Stylist:

This role focuses on delivering exceptional guest experiences in a salon setting while gaining hands on experience in haircare services under the mentorship of a senior stylist. The position is a temporary entry point designed to transition into a full stylist role. Responsibilities evolve over six months from assisting in services and retail support to performing professional hair treatments and styling independently. A strong passion for beauty, commitment to learning, and guest service excellence are key to success in this role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities of Assistant Stylist:

• Assist stylists with shampooing, treatments, styling, and color applications, supporting overall guest satisfaction and store sales goals.
• Perform salon services independently after the initial training phase, including haircuts, coloring, treatments, blowouts, and styling.
• Deliver personalized product recommendations and demonstrations to enhance retail sales and guest loyalty.
• Ensure a clean, sanitized, and organized salon area that meets company and state board standards.
• Promote and support in-store events and marketing efforts that elevate the guest experience.
• Collaborate with team members, skin therapists, and retail associates to ensure a total-store guest experience.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, booking, and service protocols to maintain consistency and compliance.

Qualifications and Experience of Assistant Stylist:

• Valid cosmetology license required.
• Understanding of basic salon techniques, tools, and chemicals for services such as cutting, coloring, styling, and treatments.
• Interest and aptitude for growing skills in all salon service areas, including makeup and ear piercing where applicable.
• Strong communication abilities and a desire to build lasting guest relationships.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
