Job Summary:
Join USAA and take on a pivotal role in analyzing various products, pricing strategies, and risk management techniques to support the company's mission and goals. As a seasoned Actuarial Analyst, you'll utilize advanced modeling software to develop new products, assess financial strength, and stay ahead of industry trends. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely within the continental U.S., with occasional travel.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish statistical plans and analytical tools for analyzing product classification systems, rating plans, reserves, and catastrophes.
- Participate in short and long-term planning activities, making forecasts, and developing strategies for product development, pricing, catastrophe management, and more.
- Utilize advanced actuarial modeling software to develop new products, reprice existing ones, and determine financial strength.
- Monitor competitive markets, industry trends, and regulatory changes to achieve financial and market goals.
- Develop innovative solutions to business initiatives and provide training to junior members.
- Serve as a resource to team members on escalated issues and develop requirements for agile business changes.
- Strategically partner with IT to influence technical business standards and represent USAA’s interests at industry level committee meetings.
- Ensure effective risk identification, measurement, monitoring, and control in accordance with policies and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Actuarial/business/analytical fields.
- 8 years of Actuarial/business/analytical experience + Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) held for 5 years; OR 6 years Actuarial/business/analytical experience +Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS).
- Experience in developing and delivering innovative actuarial analyses/processes and applying industry best practices.
- Strong communication/presentation skills and ability to deliver key messages effectively to stakeholders.
- Experience leading teams through effective communication, learning, and mentorship.
- Passion for creative and innovative actuarial work and expertise in pricing methodologies and models.
- Ability to translate detailed analytics into manageable visualizations and present results to executive leadership.
- Proficiency in data analytic tools and programming languages like Python/R/SQL.
- Expert problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytic skills.

Salary:
The salary range for this position is $158,960 - $303,830, with actual salary varying by location.
